You'll also find info in this thread for scriptwriting works for fiction writing as well. Jenny took scriptwriting lessons and believes it is good info to have. (She also believes there are many roads to Oz, so you don't have to follow hers. Use what works, and discard what doesn't.) Several novelists wrote screenplays before turning to novels, so don't dismiss the info just because you don't intend to write scripts:
